Spent a Sunday afternoon in Baysville on the invitation of family who own a property up there. We bounced around the backcountry on quads for a bit and took a short break at the edge of the wood. The air felt clean and crisp and cool. The afternoon sun hitting the dying grasses beckoned us to step out of the cool shadows of the forest and into the light. I can't remember the content of our quiet conversation at the edge of this bog but the memory is rich with warm feelings of connection none the less.
